PASSION FLOWER FUSION 16OZ
This infusion, or water extract, of passion flower (also known as maypop and mayblossom bitters) and ginseng was recommended in over ninety readings.
Passion flower is a non-habit forming mild sedative for the nerves which is commonly recommended to induce relaxation. It was believed to be better for the muscles and capillary circulation, so long as a proper diet was followed to avoid congestion in the intestines. However, care should be taken to avoid taking passion flower at the same time as other sedatives.
It is interesting to find passion flower combined with ginseng, a nerve stimulant and digestive aid historically known for its rejuvenating properties. According to Cayce ginseng has a stimulating effect on the glands which serves to energize and recharge the system. Used together, these two herbs work to relax the nerves and relieve stress, while improving the ability to focus.
Edgar Cayce also recommended it in cases of nervous incoordination. According to the readings, it influences the sympathetic nervous system, helping to normalize impulses between the glands at the base of the brain and the hypogastric nerve center, which controls digestion areas along the spine. In Cayce's own words: "The passion flower effect is upon the sympathetic nervous system. It is to relinquish the congestions that are produced in the attacks of incoordination at the base of the brain, through the flexure as indicated which is produced through the areas along the spine, and in the adhesions in the area indicated."
